Betty and Bob watched front row center as the preacher, recently back from a fishing expedition, regaled the packed congregation with prayers, photographs. tall tales and parables about the joy of fly fishing.
“To get a fish to jump at the fly, ” the reverend shouted to the enthusiastic crowd, “Just pull that line waaaaay back!” as he leaned as though casting the imaginary line
“and let her rip” he bellowed and continued with the perfect follow through.
An instant hush fell over the crowd.
Betty giggled, then whispered in Bob’s ear. “he said, Let er rip, so I did…thank goodness it was silent…”
Bob points, “Read my lips, change your hearing aid batteries.”
