Wicked Witch wicked issues

Wicked problems are problems that are difficult or impossible to solve. These issues are referred to as wicked, not because they are inherently good or evil, but because issues conceal incomplete, contradictory, and changing requirements. Solutions are resistent and often difficult to recognize. Efforts to solve one or more aspects of a wicked problem may reveal or create new or additional problems.

Most people already have views on some of these deep philosophical questions, and may have formed stereotypical responses.

Other questions, though, may cause people to rethink their inner paradigms.

A wicked problem is one that is difficult or impossible to solve for many reasons, the most common of which:

  • Incomplete or contradictory knowledge
  • Number of people and opinions involved
  • Size of economic burden
  • Interconnected nature between problems

Wicked issues include, among many ongoing, controversial social disorders:

  • war,
  • healthcare,
  • energy,
  • climate
  • change,
  • poverty

Quote: “If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on the solution, I would spend the first fifty-five minutes determining the proper question to ask, for once I know the proper question, I could solve the problem in less than five minutes.” -Albert Einstein

Each and every attempt to solve a wicked problem can change one problem into multiple problems in a domino effect and create new wicked problems.

These are the wicked problems with which We the Peeps seem currrently obsessed.
